Identify, seek and secure profitable business opportunities for the company;
Strategically position the company as the trusted partner of the industry's top customers;
Play a key role in defining the company's business planning and bidding priorities;
Develop, maintain and expand profitable businesses;
Internal: Line of Business Management, Customer Relations Manager, Commercial and Bids & Tenders Team, other Business Development Managers, Account/Lead Managers, other departments as appropriate;
External: customer contacts, potential customers and target;
Demonstrate personal commitment to Health, Safety and Environment;
Apply the Customer's Health, Safety and Environment Policies and Procedures in the company;
Ensure that all operational and quality procedures of the company are followed at all times;
Maintain and embrace ownership of departmental policies and procedures;
Lead customer identification and engagement to win new business opportunities aligned with the corporate strategy, agreed business plan(s) and the Business Forecasting Tools (BFTs);
Establish, build, maintain and extend relationships with leading customer organisations and industry partners (alliances) to achieve the agreed commercial targets;
Develop a reliable and visible pipeline of project opportunities (sales funnel) across the full BD;
life-cycle (customer ‘mapping’, lead generation, opportunity qualification, opportunity pursuit and capture as well as on-going account management and forecasting);
Ensure that the appropriate Company tools are fully utilised to manage and track customer accounts;
Provide information on qualifying opportunities, win strategy, trade trade with contribution and leadership of bidding business development;
Position the company as an industry leader in the service line / region to become the trusted partner of choice for the most important projects of the clients;
Shape the strategy and business plan(s) for the region/line of business/sector;
Develop and maintain an understanding of prices in local markets relevant to line of business activities;
Represent the company to customers, partners and the broader market at industry events through innovative leadership and through external strategic marketing campaigns;
Leverage and defend various areas of the company's capacity (technical or geographic) to achieve better results (cross-selling);
Be actively involved in the winning work throughout the bidding process (identification to award and including post-award) and, in particular, be listed in the winning strategy for any bid as necessary. by providing critical information;
Collaborate closely with a company's delivery capability to ensure it is delivered consistently best practices and continuously being improved (more integrated, right the first time, more efficient, less risk for the company and more profitable);
Initiate and provide information for specific marketing promotional material and innovative leadership, including acting as a subject matter expert whenever possible;
Share knowledge about lessons learned (in tenders and projects and through direct customer feedback) as well as the main market trends with an organization in general;
Identify opportunities for innovation and business performance improvement;
Deliver a positive and consistent corporate message - Business Development Managers represent the ‘Brand’ internally to colleagues and externally to the market;
Keeping accurate and succinct records and business development tools;
Lead by example; acting as an example for the company's core values demonstrating a personal commitment to the best QHSE practices and ownership of the company's policies and procedures.

Mechanical, electrical, engineering or construction Degree or relevant technical qualification with industry experience;
Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing target customer pursuit and key account plans;
Demonstrable understanding of the industrial services and engineering industry with particular experience of the energy and infrastructure sectors;
