Electrical Technician

Installs & repairs wiring, fixtures & equipment for all electrical services, following blueprints & wiring diagram;
Installs conduit to bulkheads with brackets & screws, using hand tools & threads wires thru conduit to terminals, such as connection boxes, circuit breakers, voltage regulators & switch panels;
Strips insulation from wire ends & solders ends to terminals, using stripping pliers, & soldering iron;
Connects power supply circuits to machines, equipments, fire control & other electronic apparatus;
Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipments, following electrical code, blueprints, manuals & schematic diagrams, using hand tools & voltage tester;
Tests electrical characteristics, such as voltage, resistance, current & phase angle in circuits, using voltmeters, ohmmeters, current-meters & phase rotation indicators;
May construct instrument panels, using hand tools, rulers, dividers & power drills, following given specifications;
Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, digital controllers & lighting fixtures, using test equipment & replaces damaged or broken wires & cables, using hand tools;
Tests malfunctioning machineries, using test equipments & discuss malfunction with other maintenance workers, to resolve the problem;
Replaces faulty electrical 7 electronic components of machines & equipments, such as relays, switches, PCBs & motors, and positions sensing devices, using electrical & electronic test equipments & hand tools;
May pushes buttons & presses keys on digital controllers & programmable controllers to program & repair automated machineries, to test for malfunctions & to verify repairs;
May plan layout of wiring & install wiring, conduit & electrical apparatus in buildings;
Applies electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify developmental or operational electrical machineries & electrical control equipments & circuitries;
Assembles & tests experimental motor-control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings, solenoids & other electrical equipments and components according to engineering data & knowledge of electrical principles;
Modifies electrical prototypes to correct functional deviations under direction of electrical supervisor / engineer;
Reports work done, remarks & parts used on the repair request form.

1. Performs & implements routine maintenance programs using appropriate tools & all related references.

2. Responsible to comment & fill-up all routine check lists as required.

A 3 years degree in electrical or electronics is required;

A 2 – 3 years relevant experience is required;

Ability to read, understand & follow international electrical codes, manuals, schematic diagram, blueprints & other specifications;

Ability to use hand tools & test equipments;

Qualified to perform electrical work according to safety rules & standard electrical codes & norms;

Capability to identify & resolve electrical problems in a timely manner;

Ability to read & interpret written information;

Necessity to work & act safely & to use equipments, tools & materials properly,
Punctuality by attending consistently duty on time;

Well-responding to superiors by following management instructions, directions & commands;
Full time employment status;

Must be willing to work a changing shift schedule & on a rotating weekend on call list;

Responsive to work calls in after-duty hours, week-ends, holidays & rarely in vacations;

Responsive to work telephone calls;

While performing the duty, must regularly use hands to fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands & arms, talk or hear;
Just climb stairs, climb vertical ladders & carry medium-weight items;

Specific vision ability is required, including close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus;

May be required to wear various types of protection equipment & tools;

Ability to maintain pleasant working relationships.
