Second Engineer (Naval)

Troubleshoot and repair issues on several systems present onboard: Main Engines, Genset, Propulsion lines, Auxiliaries, 220V & 24V networks, electronics & PLCs.
Communicate clearly with the Technical Superintendent for reports and advice and with the 3rd engineers and pilots for guidance.
Be extremely flexible and responsive as the technical team must be able to intervene on vessels rapidly and at any given time
Regular reporting and communication with company hierarchy.
Actively participates in ensuring a healthy and safe workplace for all and no harm is caused to the environment
Responsible for complying with all Company Management System guidelines, policies and procedures

2nd engineer certificate.
Considerable experience in the position of second engineer or Technical Supervisor/Assistant can replace the need for a professional qualification.
Autonomous, organised, familiar with offshore installations and experienced in fast crew boat activities.
Good judgement and technical knowledge when tackling issues on board.
Solid background in mechanics (theoretical and practical).
Preferably knowledge of MAN and SCANIA engines.
Good knowledge of electrical systems and electronics.
Must be able to manage a team of engineers and have a good team spirit.
Must be able to use Office Pack and Outlook efficiently.
An excellent level in English (technical) is a must, good level of French and Portuguese.
