Gemologist

• Examines the Diamonds and evaluate their genuineness, quality, and value, utilizing knowledge of gems market valuations
• Examine diamonds to ascertain the shape, cut, and width of cut stones, moreover select the cuts that will result in the biggest, best quality stones
• Examine diamonds surfaces and internal structures, using polariscopes, refractometers, microscopes, and other optical instruments, to differentiate between stones, to identify rare specimens, and also to detect flaws, defects, or peculiarities affecting gem values
• Identify different color diamonds and different species
• Grades stones for color, perfection, and quality of cut
• Calculate weights, grades, and values for loose diamonds
• Meticulously performing diamonds testing assignments and imparting training of Gemology and Diamond Grading
• Provide accurate assessment and condition of diamonds
• Having a strong and decisive understanding of diamonds and minerals
• Knowledge of gem and diamond market valuations
• Staying up to date on all current and active literature on diamonds, gemstones, synthetics, treatments and gemstone grading and the changes within the industry

• 4 to 6 years of experience
• Certifications GIA rough diamond grading Certificate or equal certificates
• Degree in Geology
• Minimum age 30 years
• Fluent english
• Skills in Rough Diamond Evaluation
• Skills in Rough Diamond Trading
