For every child, the right to a calling
The WASH Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming processes, with the application of theoretical and practical technical skills in researching, collecting, analyzing and presenting programme information while learning organizational rules, regulations and procedures to support the development, implementation and monitoring of the Climate Resilience and Disaster Risk Reduction output results of the Country Programme.
Summary of key functions/accountabilities:
1. Programme development and planning
2. Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results
3. Technical and operational support for programme implementation
4. Humanitarian WASH preparedness and response
5. Networking and partnership building
6. Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building
Requisitos
Minimum requirements
• Education: Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Public Health, Social Services, Engineering-Environmental, Behavioral Science, Sanitary Engineering, Civil Engineering, Disaster Management, International Development, Health Communication, Humanitarian Studies and any other related fields
• Work Experience: At least 1 year of relevant work experience in United Nations, Emergency, Water & Environmental Sanitation, Response, Social and Behavior Change, Hygiene, Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Resilience, Anticipatory Action, Humanitarian Response, Program Management. and any other related fields
• Skills: Coordination, Emergency Preparedness, Monitoring and Evaluation, Project Management, Urban Sanitation.
• Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Portuguese is required
Desirables
• Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset
• Advanced University Degree or Further years of experience in the relevant fields is an asset
• International Organizations Experience, Developing Countries Experience, DRR Experience, Early Recovery
• Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts
