Grant Finance Manager

Purpose of the position:

The grant finance manager position provides supervision for accurate financial reporting, ensures compliance to grant regulation, support an effective stewardship process and coordinate the implementation of initiatives and WV policies and procedures.

Provide technical oversight to grant accountants in producing quality financial reports on timely basis.
Provide technical oversight on reviewing financial reports of partners and sub recipients and coordinate on any deviance and corrections.
Provides leadership in preparing grant budgets to program managers and Grant Accountants
Reviews, recommends and approves financial documents such as journals, cash disbursements and deposit vouchers
Facilitates capacity building and coaching of all grant finance staff as well as project partners/sub recipients
Maintains an effective negotiation and networking process with donors and support offices regarding budgets and other financial related issues
Reviews MYPBAS status on monthly and provide guidance to the grant finance team to make necessary adjustments
Provides leadership and guidance to grant finance staff during external independent audits and internal audits on yearly basis
Facilitates grant financial reports review meetings with the Program Managers on monthly basis

Ensure that regional/global grant reporting and initiatives are complied.

Minimum Qualification required:

Bachelor of Accountancy or ACCA or CIMA.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
Hands on experience in Sun Systems and Vision.
Certification in Grants Management.
CIMA or Certified Public Accountant/Chartered Accountant

Technical skills & Abilities

Demonstrated ability in supervision
Demonstrated good analytical skills
A good negotiator
Fluency in English and basic Portuguese
Use of accounting package (e.g Sun systems) will be an added advantage.
A basic understanding of Lotus Notes will be advantageous
Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision, be a team player, innovative and demonstrate the capacity for maintaining high professional standards.
Ensure a good and high level of quality customer service. Working knowledge (moderate knowledge) in English both written and verbal.
